Do I need a license to fly a Drone? ​​

If you are flying a drone for recreational purposes, you don't need a license or any formal training. For example, in the US & Canada, drone flights are not allowed in national parks, over or near airports, at sporting events, or in restricted areas like military bases without first getting permission to do so. If you are flying a drone for commercial purposes or as part of your business, you have to have that drone's flight supervised by someone who has been certified by the FAA to operate a drone for a commercial purpose.​

Can I bring a Drone on an Airplane?

​It depends on the drone. If it is a battery-powered drone, the FAA or airline will likely have no restrictions on the drone if the battery is under a certain capacity. To be on the safe side as well check the Airlines rules in accordance to bringing Drones on board

How old do I have to be in order to fly a Drone?

In Canada you must be at least 14 years old to fly a Drone and to get your basic drone license and 16 years old to get your advanced License ​

In the United States of America you must be at least 13 years old and to register a drone as well, and to become an FAA-Certified drone pilot you must be at least 16 years old

In Canada if the drone is between 250​g and 25kg it must be registered with the Transport of Canada, if it less than 249g then it does not have to be registered

In the United States of America if the Drone weighs less than 0.55 pounds or less than 250g it does not have to be registered with the FAA. Anything above 250g it must be registered with the FAA
